Canada's Black speaks after WAG eighth subdivision qualifications
DOHA: Comments from Elsabeth Black of Canada after the eighth subdivision of women’s qualifications at Aspire Dome on Sunday.
On the Canadian team’s performance (first place in the subdivision, and ranked third after eight of 11 subdivisions).
I’m very proud of how everyone on the team did. They all held themselves up high — chins up and a positive attitude — and really put it all out there on the floor.
On her plan for the all-around final (she ranked fifth all-around after eight of 11 divisions).
I’ll probably keep the same routines, try to clean things up and work on the consistency.”
On her role as leader of the Canadian team.
I’ve had a lot of experience and I’ve been around for a quite a few years. I can share my experience, and my ups and downs, with the rest of the girls. I can help them be the best they can be, and have the best performances they can for Canada. That’s the most important thing for me. Not so much having that top role, but just helping the team.
