Dalaloyan speaks after he won MAG All-around gold in tie-breaker

DOHA: Russian Federation’s Artur Dalaloyan speaks after he won gold in a tie-breaker over China’s Xiao Ruoteng in the MAG All-around final at Aspire Dome on Wednesday.

On winning gold in a tie-breaker with China’s Xiao Ruoteng:

“I had only one goal, and that was to perform my job from beginning to end without mistakes. I was surprised and can’t say anything more. I’m just so happy. I feel good, excellent. I simply tried my best to show my best. I can’t believe it yet. I need to probably go to my hotel, take a deep breath and realise that yes, I won this championship.”

On when he saw the scoreboard that showed him in first place and Xiao in second place:

“When I saw the results I immediately saw that #2 came next to (Xiao’s) name and, of course, felt happy and amazing.”

On what he was thinking after his dismount on horizontal bar in the last rotation:

“Emotions overwhelmed me. Everything worked out perfectly.”

On how he feels on winning gold, after the Russian Federation lost gold to China in Monday’s team final:

“Super.”

On preparing for the all-around final after the Russian Federation lost gold to China in Monday’s team final:

“Yesterday was an off-day for me. I tried my best not to think about it. I didn’t train yesterday, and tried to focus on the (All-around) final.”
