Doha Worlds to provide medical facility for media, spectators and volunteers
DOHA: As parts of the Local Organising Committee’s (LOC) commitments to ensure a hitch-free competition, a fully-equipped medical clinic will be provided to attend to the needs of all media representatives, volunteers and spectators during the 48th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.
The LOC has tied up with Qatar’s state-of-the-art facility Aspetar as its official medical partner and will provide fully-equipped clinics, ambulance and healthcare services during the Worlds.
The World Championships will be held at the Aspire Dome from October 25 to November 3.
Aspetar has a team of dedicated researchers and physicians coupled with leading methodologies and state-of-the-art technology.
“We are leaving no stone to make the championships successful. Our team of highly trained professionals will be available throughout the event to cater to the medical needs of media personnel, volunteers and spectators,” said co-operational head of the LOC Medical Committee.
The facility, which will be located at the entrance of the Dome, will remain open from 9am on every day since the final day of the competition.
Services are free and a team of highly-trained professionals will be on ground to attend to the needs of everyone, who will be turning out in large numbers to witness one of the biggest sporting events in Qatar’s history.
"The ambulances will be stationed at various strategic locations of the venue and, in case of any emergency, either at the hotel or anywhere outside the competition venue, attendees should call 999," Dr Tilley added.
