Dutch deliver in style in WAG fourth subdivision
DOHA: 2016 Olympic balance beam champion Sanne Wevers glided into a provision first place on her best apparatus as the Dutch led the team standings in the fourth subdivision of women’s qualifications at Aspire Dome on Saturday.
“We do hard skills in a creative way,” noted Dutch gymnast Vera van Pol of her squad’s eye-catching style and stability, which earned a team total score of 159.029
Naomi Visser, who competed in her maiden Worlds, said, "We wanted to hit three routines on each of the apparatuses, but even when we made mistakes, we made sure there were three of us hitting the routines that count."
Qualifications continue with two more subdivisions on Saturday and five subdivisions on Sunday.
