‘Qatar needs more women judges’
FIG Women’s Technical Committee President Donatella Sacchi said Qatar should have more women judges as it can help encourage more girls join the sport.
“It’s so nice to see young girls taking up the sport. Qatar encourages women’s sport, but having more judges means they can boost others. We’re happy to see the positive response,” Sacchi told Doha Stadium Plus. “We’re pleased with the outcome so far, as four candidates took part in the recent judges’ course in Doha.”
Qatari international judges Abeer Ali Al Buainain and Fatima Mohammed Al Mohannadi renewed their licences while Ghalia Al Habshi and Ahlam Al Habshi were the two new entrants.
“Since Qatar would stage the 48th Artistic World Championships next year, it was important to have many more women judges,” said Sacchi.
