These Are the Different Administration Documents for Foreigners Who Hold KITAP and KITAS

Jakarta – Not only Indonesian citizens, but foreigners who are living in Indonesia also have the right to hold residence documents if they meet the specified criteria. Then, which foreigners can get their residence documents?

Director of Population Registration David Yama explained that foreigners who have a Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP) and a Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS) can get residence documents.

“Foreigners who hold KITAP or KITAS also get different administrative documents. It depends on the purpose of their stay,” said Yama.

Director Yama explained that foreigners who hold KITAP can get KK (family card) and e-KTP (electronic identity card) or KIA (child identity card). Meanwhile, KITAS holders only get a Residence Certificate (SKTT).

“To get those administrative documents, they must bring KITAP or KITAS and passports. Please come to the Dukcapil (Population and Civil Registration Agency) and follow the instructions of the officers there,” said Yama.

Director General of Dukcapil Zudan Arif Fakrulloh said that holding administrative documents such as an e-KTP is the basis for obtaining other public services such as banking, health, or social services. Such population data collection has great benefits for the government as well.

“By having foreigners registered in the database, the government can administer the foreigners’ activities that are related to the location of their residences, jobs, and public services they receive,” explained Director General Zudan.

Where to find halal food in India? This question often slides on social media platforms or forums. The Muslim travelers’ concern is justified because most of India’s population adheres to Hinduism. If you were in a country where most of the population is non-Muslim, you would worry about finding Halal food.

If the visit is only three days, it might not be too much of a problem, of course. Just enjoying fruit and bread is enough. Or bring supplies from home.

But if it’s a week, two weeks or even a month? It would become a troublesome obstacle to overcome.

Although India is dominated by Hindus, in fact, in terms of food, the country does have many differences. Most Hindus in India are mostly vegetarians. This means you can’t eat animal products except for milk. Don’t eat chicken, goat, pork, or beef because cows are considered sacred in India.

The Non-Halal Restaurants

However, not all Hindus in India are vegetarian. Hindus in southern India also consume fish in their daily diet.

So, if you come to India, you don’t have to worry about looking for halal food because most restaurants serve food with a vegetarian menu, which of course is halal for consumption. Their vegetarian menu usually consists of potatoes, vegetables, paneer (Indian-style tofu/cheese made from milk) and lentils (a type of legume).

Then what about the non-vegetarian food menu?

A small number of restaurants and stalls also sell food on the chicken meat menu. Even international brand fast food restaurants such as KFC, Burger King, Subway, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and so on sell burgers and fried chicken menus.

Do they have halal certificate? Unfortunately, most of it is not halal. Is it because there is a mixture of pork? No, but the chicken is not cut in an Islamic way.

The Halal Ones

Only a few cities in India where fast food restaurants such as KFC, McDonald’s, and Pizza Hut (international brands) have Halal certification; namely the cities of Hyderabad, Kanpur and Kashmir.

In order to get this certificate or permit, the company must be able to obtain a certain certificate called CPPOB. As one of the conditions for obtaining the IE, every company is required to have a CPPOB. Companies can only get the permit after obtaining this certificate, which makes the importance of CPPOB heightened.

And remember, the certificate can only be obtained after obtaining approval from BPOM.

Understanding The Importance of CPPOB

Is it Easy to Apply for BPOM for Your Medicine Products in Indonesia?

The overall process is easy, but it takes time. Plus, if you don’t work with someone or an authorized import organization in Indonesia, the process will be longer than expected. 

Why is BPOM Certification Important for Indonesian Customers?

To conduct business in Indonesia, any company selling food, drinks, cosmetics, or medications must comply with the country’s food safety standards. All food, drinks, cosmetics, and medicines sold in Indonesia must be registered with the Food and Medicine Supervisory Board in compliance with Indonesian government legislation via Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan or BPOM.

A fine of Rp1 billion and up to two years in jail may be imposed for selling and distributing items in Indonesia without a BPOM certification license. 

The Purpose of the BPOM Certification License

  • Making sure that the product follows good manufacturing practices;
  • Product examination before it is allowed to circulate;
  • Product regulation and standardization.
  • Monitoring of the product’s safety after it has been released for public consumption, including sampling and laboratory testing, inspections of production and distribution facilities, as well as investigations and law enforcement; \
  • Control of the product advertising and promotion pre- and post-audit

Who Is Eligible To Obtain A BPOM Certification?

A BPOM certification license is required for any Indonesian firm selling or distributing processed food and beverage goods, cosmetics, or medicines (including traditional and cosmetical pharmaceuticals). How to get a BPOM certification depends on whether the product is made locally or brought in from somewhere else.

In order to import its goods into Indonesia, a foreign corporation must either license its products to an Indonesian company or create a legal organization in Indonesia. You don’t have to apply for a BPOM certification license if you select for licensing; the importing firm will.

We highly urge that you have an excellent connection with the importing firm if you decide to choose this route. The importing firm may still be able to sell your goods in Indonesia until their certification license expires in the case of a breakup of the relationship. Make an appointment with Permitindo if you have any questions or concerns about the structure of your company.

Obtaining an Import Certificate (Surat Keterangan Impor)

Importers must also get an Import Certificate (SKI or Surat Keterangan Impor) from BPOM in addition to a BPOM certification license under the present import legislation. For an imported product to be marketed in Indonesia, it must fulfill the following storage life requirements:

  • At least a third of the product’s storage life for cosmetics
  • At least 9 months before the expiration date for biological products;
  • At least two-thirds of the product’s storage life for processed foods.

For example, if a product has a total storage life of 18 months, it cannot be sold in Indonesia if it has less than 6 months of storage life left).

e-BPOM can only be used to request an Import Certificate (SKI) if your BPOM certification license has already been issued. BPOM will give your SKI within 1-2 business days if your SKI registration is successful.
